Missions

“The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” – Matthew 9:37-38

We have a strong desire to be used by God to minister to our fellow Christians and to see the lost come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  We pray this will happen through our foreign and home missions, and through ministering to our local community.

Diaconal Ministries

We believe the work of deacons represents to the world our God’s deep concern for the poor among his people, and particularly our Savior’s own compassion toward the poor in his earthly ministry. We hope through their vital work to adorn our witness to the world with deeds of mercy that accompany words of gospel truth!  Our denomination participates in short term mission and disaster relief, as well as many other vital works to serve those in need around us.  Click here for more information about the diaconal work of our denomination.

Foreign Missions

We prayerfully and financially support foreign missions.  Our own presbytery oversees a work in Haiti that was begun many years ago.  The past efforts of the Baugh family and the current efforts of the Hopp family in Haiti have led to several congregations of reformed believers in Haiti.

Home Missions

We believe there is a great need for more bible believing churches here in the United States and Canada.  To that end, our church supports efforts to plant more churches here in North America.  In particular we do this mainly through our Presbytery’s efforts in the Committee on Home Missions and Church Extension, which seeks to plant more reformed churches throughout the southeast United States.

Our Community

We desire to carry on a word-and-deed ministry of mercy through our Diaconal Work from our local church, our presbytery, and our denomination.

Our local church financially and prayerfully supports the ministry of Huntsville Pregnancy Resource Center.  Pastor Thole teaches a parenting class for new dads as part of HPRC’s Fatherhood Program.

On the fourth Wednesday of the month, in lieu of our regular Wednesday night prayer and devotional, we visit Madison Village Assisted Living.  Pastor Thole gives a short devotional and we enjoy a time visiting with the residents.
